Fold-Flat UL Pot Support

Always tinkering, that's me. The old TriPod was a good pot support, but now there is something even better. At 8.5 grams, the new Hinge folding support may be the lightest 2”-high pot support on the planet. It folds flat to be stored in less space in your pot or pouch. It is made of annealed stainless steel rods and brass tubes, so it will never rust. The type of stainless rods I use can be bent gently to put it back into shape if/when needed. Each of the two sides is basically identical, with a 3" top rod and a 3" base rod that helps prevent sinking into soft ground.

Use it only on a level surface and adjust it by hand so that the support tubes are vertical. A piece of aluminum foil underneath it can reflect burner heat up to your pot. As light as it is, it can easily be destroyed by stepping on it accidentally. Be careful with it and it will last forever. I have found it will support as much as a light 1-liter pot full of water (2.5 pounds).
